Penthouse launches world's first 3D channel

3D content is high, and Penthouse is the one studio that can rely on its broad expertise to deliver 3D in a manner unmatched by any other branded entertainment company."


The station---appropriately named "Penthouse 3D"---will partner with the established "Penthouse HD Channel," which is already available in 15 countries. 3D programming will be available to the general public in the second quarter of 2011. This is just one step closer to the paramount pursuit of all adult media technology: virtual reality porn.

Porn has long been at the forefront of new media technology. It helped decide the battle between Betamax and VHS, as well as Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. Now the adult entertainment brand, Penthouse, will be the first to launch a 3D channel. Unfortunately for some, the channel will not air the multitude of major Hollywood 3D films that cannot yet be viewed in this format from home. Rather, Penthouse will do what it does best and feature original adult content shot in native high definition and 3D.
