Project Runway podcast ep. 5: It wasn't that big of a challenge...but there were neckerchiefs

Is it just me or was "biggest challenge in Runway history" kiiiiinda a letdown? I mean, yeah, it was a good prize and Heidi Klum is a big deal I guess, but they may have exaggerated a wee little bit. The challenge was, as we knew from the previews, design a dress for Mrs. Seal to wear on the cover of Marie Claire. This seems easy but apparently when these designers hear "cover," they think "neutral colors" (Pro Tip: Do not use any skin/band-aid colors for a cover shoot, it will not end well for you).

As for the designers, the true colors and cattiness are coming out … finally. Mila, the Cougar, is proving to be a super-beotch and Stephen's little buddy, Seth Aaron appears to be the most annoying man in America. Was he snapping? And making up songs? Yes, yes he was, proving that he sucks and is even less cool than his Bret Michaels guyliner would lead us to believe. Tampa designer, Ben Chmura got some serious screen time, with his "Madame Butterfly on acid" quote. So at least we know how to get the editor's attention now, mention hallucinogens, does it every time. Finally, in totally important hair news, my favey gay boyfriend Jonathan, got a new 'do and got super-flaming this episode (these two things are most likely related).

Ok ok, I'll stop this journey into randomness, also known as a recap, and let you listen to the podcast where we chat about fashion week, rain boots, neckerchiefs and, you know, the challenge. Also, be sure to check out our infamous (to the seven readers of this blog) Project Runway cry count.
