While Qualls is unimpressive in 2010, his career numbers are actually pretty good. This year he has 12 saves in 43 games with a 1-4 record and poor 8.29 ERA. In his career, he's 30-26, with a 3.75 ERA and 51 saves (which Rafael Soriano could do in 12 months of baseball).

Well folks, the Rays have made their first deadline move of the day. They picked up right-handed relief pitcher Chad Qualls from the Arizona Diamondbacks for a player to be named. Speculation is that this will allow Tampa Bay to include a bullpen arm in a potential trade for a decent bat, perhaps Adam Dunn of the Washington Nationals.
