There was a lot of pre-parade activity.  Krewes partied at many Ybor City bars, food vendors prepared for the crowd, parking rates went up and some people just tried to stay warm. Experienced paradegoers staked out a claim long before the parade began. [image-1]


Tampa's political leaders were out in force. The grand marshal was former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco.



There were different techniques for getting beads.


Hanging out of windows is a good challenge for bead throwers

Skin wins beads every time.

And food aplenty

There were more characters in the crowd than in the parade itself.

It was a cool and crisp night for the 2010 Sant' Yago Knight parade.  The crowds seemed calmer, the police reported fewer arrests — and it was a target-rich environment for street photography.

Fake boobs worked well as a bead-getter.
