Never heard of those terms before? They're familiar to attendees of science fiction, fantasy and anime conventions. Larping (Live Action Role-Playing) and filking (the performance of folk music with science fiction or fantasy themes) are just two activities you'll find at Necronomicon, held Oct. 21-23 at the Hilton Bayfront, 333 First St. S. The convention, now in its 30th year, is expecting up to 1,000 attendees for games, panels, shopping and socializing. The Guest of Honor is Ben Bova, an award-winning author of more than 100 futuristic novels and non-fiction works.
