Slip and slide (the city)

World's longest waterslide comes to Tampa.

Why settle for a boring pool slide when you can Slide the City in Tampa this Saturday? For $45 (less before the event, if there are any tickets left) you get three slides, a mouth guard and a drawstring bag. You select a two-hour window in which you can ride the slide for world-record-holding 1000 wet feet. You’ll need to bring your own inner tube, or buy one the day of the event. When you’re done sliding, the day isn’t over — the block party surrounding this slide lasts all day with music, local vendors and food. $45. May 14, 9 a.m. North Blvd. & W. Palm Ave., Tampa. slidethecity.com.
