As it prepares for next year’s home turf World Cup, the U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) has plans to play in front of Tampa fans this fall.

U.S. Soccer announced the friendly against Uruguay this month, as part of a November that sees the USMNT also take on Paraguay in Philadelphia. Paraguay, 2010 World Cup quarterfinalists seeking their ninth appearance within the tournament, are guided by striker Miguel Almirón. Uruguay, currently ranked 16th in the FIFA Men’s World Ranking, finished in third place at the 2024 Copa América.

New-ish USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino said he’s relishing the opportunity to take on World Cup-level opponents.

The 53-year-old Argentine and former Tottenham Hotspur manager signed a two-year contract to lead the USMNT on Sept. 10, 2024, and is the highest-paid gaffer in the national team’s history.

USMNT’s top players include Christian Pulisic, Antonee Robinson, and Malik Tillman. But it’s still unclear who’ll dress for the U.S. come November.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from June 11-July 19. The tournament will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with the final set for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Tickets start at $59.80 for USMNT vs. Uruguay at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Monday, Nov. 18. The match will be streamed for those who can’t make it in person.
