The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance wants to give $5,000 to a local artist as part of its Jim Rolston Memorial Professional Development Grant. The artist must be 18 and older and a resident of St. Pete to receive the grant, which was established to give financial assistance towards education, training, or anything that will help elevate the recipient’s work.

Performing, visual or literary artists are invited to apply online by 5 p.m. Friday, April 16. Some of the aspects of the application are a project budget, resume, and images of your work. Funding is only available for training or education taking place between May 15-December 30, 2021.

The grant was created in 2018 in memory of Jim Rolston, a sculptor, artist, and founding member of the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance.

Previous winners of the grant are writer Gloria Munoz, sculptor Wendy Durand, and photographer Beth Reynolds. To apply, go to stpeteartsalliance.org.
