We're not so sure Grease and Die Hard count as "cult classic" nights — more like pre-weird Travolta and best Christmas movie ever nights (we'll let you figure out which one's which), but either way, The Dalí Museum's celebrating some cinematic anniversaries this summer. They're calling it "cult classics" — but really, these lawn movies are a far, delightful cry from Eraserhead. So go ahead — get your lawn chair (or beach chair, or blanket), find some classic movie garb (maybe a pink t-shirt for Grease and a... hmmm, what outfit says "Die Hard"?) and get your spot early (it's free, so the lawn fills up pretty quick).
For Grease — it's the 40th anniversary of this classic — the food trucks from which you can feast include Anju Korean Gastrotruck, St. Pete Taco Lady, Ward’s BBQ and The Sugar Shack. For Die Hard — happy 30th, guys — take your pick of fare from The Surly Mermaid, Anju Korean Gastrotruck, Maggie on the Move and Ward’s BBQ. Want a cold one? Of course you do, but ya gotta leave those coolers at home. No worries — you can get five tasting tickets for five bucks. More info on each film and what to bring — and not — below.
