World AIDS Day falls on Dec. 1 every year, and it's a somber remembrance of all of the lives lost to HIV, as well as a stand in solidarity with folks who currently have it.
To honor World AIDS Day, celebrate queer resilience, and help destigmatize discussions about sexual health, Tampa Bay’s own Metro Inclusive Health is hosting a "Project Condom" art exhibit on Friday, Dec. 3 at its St. Petersburg’s
Inclusivitea location..
Inclusivitea—the adult retail shop and cafe located at 2235 Central Ave.—just opened a few months ago, and Project Condom will be one of its first art shows. The sho, however, has many art-related events in its future, including the sequel to Project Condom—a fashion show slated for February of 2022.
The condom couture that will be featured at this weekend's art show—which were made at previous Project Condom events—will also make its way into next year’s fashion show, alongside new threads from local designers.
Friday's event will run from about 6:30 p.m. -8 p.m. on Dec. 3 and is free to attend, although you might want to bring some cash for some coffee or adult toys.
Project Condom is designed to "allow candid conversations about safer sex practices and enforce the importance of communication in getting tested regularly," according to the Facebook
event page.
