Why order your manga online when you can gather together with fellow fans and revel in your love of all things anime together at Tampa Anime day? For one day only, the Sheraton Tampa Brandon Hotel will transform into a 3,000-square-foot marketplace to purchase your favorite comics, play video games, witness exhibitions in the event room, participate in fan panels, win prize giveaways and either compete in, or just witness the cosplay contest. Spend all of your Christmas money on manga, or just come out and enjoy the colorful costumes and atmosphere.

Saturday, Jan. 4. 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. $5 entry. Free for active military or kids under 10 years old. Sheraton Tampa Brandon Hotel, 10221 Princess Palm Ave., Tampa. tampa.animeday.net
