People like to bust their nuts over singular historic events like Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream speech” or the Apollo 11 moon landing, but those milestones were preceded by smaller events, which stacked up, brick by brick, so that history could eventually be made in a big way.

The Tampa Bay History Center invites kids and adults alike to think about that when it hosts “Brick History” featuring key figures and events constructed entirely out of LEGOs by a team led by artist Warren Elsmore. The exhibit opens on Saturday and runs through February 2020. Tampa Bay History Center, 801 Water St., Tampa. Tickets start at $10.95 for children age 7 and up; admission is free for children age 6 and under. tampabayhistorycenter.org.
