Last weekend, Tampa Bay Sun FC found itself on the wrong end of a key match against second-place Dallas Trinity FC. The loss drops the Bay area’s first-ever pro women’s soccer team to fifth place in the USL Super League, but the squad has a chance to climb back into playoff contention this weekend as it wraps the fall (aka first half) of its season at home against seventh place Spokane Zephyr FC.

The Sun—pretty much at full strength now after the arrival of international players and surprising play from development academy members—was on a tear before the loss, too, and did not lose a single game in November.

After a nearly-two-month break, the club’s 14-game spring schedule—see it below—kicks off in Ft. Lauderdale, but gives the Sun a chance to beat Dallas in Texas before coming back to Tampa on Feb. 22 to face Brooklyn FC.

At the end of the spring schedule, the top four teams in the USL Super League advance to a single-elimination, fixed-bracket playoff featuring two semifinals and a final.

Tickets to Spokane Zephyr FC v. Tampa Bay Sun FC happening Saturday, Dec. 14 inside Riverfront Stadium at Tampa’s Blake High School are still available and start at $13.
