The Tampa Museum of Art will soon open the new exhibition “Time for Change: Art and Social Unrest in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection,” kicking off the museum’s debut of several expanded galleries.
“Time for Change: Art and Social Unrest in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection” comes from Miami’s contemporary art space El Espacio 23 and is on view from Nov. 10-March 12, 2023.
The exhibition aims to give viewers a glimpse into how artists explore conflict and contradiction in contemporary society and throughout history, reframing the past within the present.
The Tampa Museum of Art—located at 120 W Gasparilla Plaza in downtown Tampa—announced in 2021 that it would begin a $100 million renovation and expansion project. The opening of “Time for Change” now coincides with the completion of the museum’s renovations.
