Wine connoisseurs, film junkies and pun lovers alike welcome back Tampa Theatre’s annual Winefest fundraiser, as next year's “The Grapest Showman” returns to downtown Tampa March 25-26.

On Friday March 25, Tampa Theatre will host 275 patrons on its stage—expanded for this event—during an elegant wine pairing, featuring a multi-course dinner curated by Mise en Place chef Marty Blitz.

Saturday night’s event is a two-tiered tasting at the historic theater, complete with a variety of wines to choose from and light bites provided by participating Tampa restaurants. A few restaurants offering their best small plates at Saturday's wine tasting are The C House, Cru Cellars, Ella’s Americana, Folk Art Cafe, District Tavern, GenX Tavern and Oxford Exchange.

Tickets for Friday start at $300 per person or $595 for a pair, while Saturday’s event runs from $65-$100, depending on which tasting tier you prefer. Tampa Theatre members can purchase their tickets now, but the general public can start buying them on Dec. 17 at tampatheatre.org.

Both nights will also feature auctions where folks can bid on everything from luxury vacations to gift cards to some of Tampa Bay’s most popular restaurants.

To celebrate its anticipated return, Tampa Theatre added another event for its upcoming Winefest — a family friendly sing-a-long screening of the 2017 movie “The Greatest Showman." Tickets for the Feb. 18 screening cost $13 for the general public and $10 for members.

The last Winefest was hosted on Feb. 22, 2020 with the theme "Cabbyshack," mere weeks before the COVID-19 lockdown. Past themes include movie puns like "Napoleon Wineamite," "Monty Python and the Holy Grape" and "Planet of the Grapes."

At 2022’s Winefest—Tampa Theatre’s 19th time hosting this themed fundraiser—guests are encouraged to dress up in their best "Showman" inspired costumes, so make sure to dust your top hat off.
