One of the nation’s most beautiful and best preserved movie theaters, 89-year-old Tampa Theatre is keeping up with the 21st century, launching what's ostensibly a new and improved website this week.
“With this new site, we wanted to incorporate technologies that movie-goers have become accustomed to, but that we have not, to this point, been able to accommodate.” explains Jill Witecki, director of marketing at Tampa Theatre. “That includes easy advance sales, mobile ticketing and Facebook integration.”
The theatre’s new website offers an updated look and easier navigability. Perhaps more importantly, patrons are now able to purchase tickets to any performance or event directly from the theatre’s website or Facebook page.
Soon, customers will even be able print tickets at home or simply present e-tickets on mobile devices. Additionally, the theater is now making use touch-screen kiosks and mobile ticket scanners. These updates coincide with Tampa Theatre’s recent rebranding and new logo — efforts to keep pace with modern moviegoing.
“While we’ve always created an excellent guest experience from the moment they walk through Tampa Theatre’s doors, the modern patron’s experience now starts with the first moment they visit a website or click a Facebook post," says Tampa Theatre President and CEO John Bell. “Consumers have become accustomed to one-click access to their favorite brands, and we are confident that this new website will allow us to live up to that expectation and remain relevant in our customers’ minds.”
