If you've been following our Hatch the Chicken adventure at CL, you know that we have two days to go before the eggs hatch.

Except we don't.

The silkie chicks started hatching this morning — two days early.

It starts like this: A pip in the egg, made with the chick's egg tooth.

See? It’s starting! Credit: Kristin Bowman

The pip turns into a crack…

Which turns into a bigger crack…

And then we have itty-bitty chick #1.

She's since dried off…

Meaghan and I are at Universal Orlando to preview Volcano Bay, so we're missing the best part.Fortunately, as we work out of CL's "Orlando office" (read: a hotel room at Universal), our intrepid loafing staffers set up #CLChickCam. Click on the Tweet to watch — if the Twitter feed isn't live, please click here to watch the chicks.

In case they're sleeping above (they do that a lot — their lives right now are apparently "hatch, fall asleep, wake up and fight, fall asleep, wake up and fight, peep, fight, sleep… you get the idea) and the others aren't ready to hatch, here are a few videos of the first two chicks making their way into the world. Their names, incidentally, are Scramble (#1) and Benny (as in Eggs Benedict), because we're sort of twisted like that.

And, despite Anthony's concern, she's just fine, thank you!

The rest of the eggs should hatch tonight, so keep watching to see when Frittata, Sunni Sideup, Quiche, HB (Hard Boiled) and Huevos hatch.

Special thanks to Beau Coop for helping us hatch these chicks!
