Last week, retail outlets and art venues throughout the bay area celebrated National Record Store Day, an event that pays tribute to the obstacle trodden, Internet-challenged, independent bricks-and-mortar dealer of vinyl and CDs and other music-oriented merchandise.

Arts and Entertainment Editor Julie Garisto and CL Contributing Photographer Daniel Veintimilla were on the Tampa side of the Bay area checking out the Tampa Museum of Art's After Dark vinyl-centric celebration of works by John Cage, Susan Janvrin and other notable artists on Friday night, and on Saturday — on a rainy day that didn't curtail local audiophiles from showing up in droves — we popped in on Microgroove's sale and show, which featured free PBR, DJ Blenda, a surprise visit from Peelander-Z (!), and, best of all, local bands we love: Poetry N Lotion, Feral Babies, Mrenc and Empire Cinema.

So, better late than ever — usual tardy d'ohnanigans of A&E editor JG.
