The Voice Recap: Battle Rounds 4

Our first battle of the evening was baby-faced country boy versus the big-city redhead chick. I honestly had no idea that I would enjoy a countyfied version of Elton John this much. I have a little crushy-crush on this country boy and I am so very glad that Adam chose him as the final member of Team Adam, even if I am always half-expecting him to do the truffle shuffle*

Blake's duo is a little Glee-like, except both these girls are actually high-school age. Bangs McGee and Xenia (I have no nickname, she is too non-descript) are both super-shy and sweet as pie. Sometimes I rhyme, get over it. Xenia wins, in a battle that could have gone either way and Blake's team gets even odder, and I love it.

Team Christina is pitting an amateur singer against a professional back-up singer with former Idol Kelly Clarkson's biggest hit song ever, "Since You've Been Gone." I have said it before and I will say it again, I love Kelly Clarkson more than any self-respecting 20...something year old girl should, it would be embarrassng if I had some sort of dignity left, but I don't, so I am telling you all that I effing love Kelly Clarkson and I will tell you right now, amateur hour is over, she butchered Miss Kelly and that is unacceptable, yet somehow Christina chose her... I do not approve of this decision.

Cee Lo's team may have sparked a love connection. Baseball-Boy and Blonde Kat Von D have made quite the connection and now they have to beat each other. Yikes. The whole way through I was like "I want to keep them as a duo...please!!!!!!" Sadly, that is not part of the deal here on The Voice and baseball-boy is moving on while tattoo girl is headed home.

That's all folks, the teams are set and I am ready for some live shows! Mistakes and forgotten lyrics, if we are lucky someone will trip on stage, and of course, the right to vote. See you all next week and don't forget to get in on this The Voice contest, cuz you could win an iPad 2 and stuff and that is kinda awesome.

*Too mean? I love him but c'mon ya'll, you know you can see it.

The Voice's Battle Rounds are almost over, this is it... they are packing up the boxing ring til next season, or I guess it could be later this season, I mean, how do I know, this show is new, the finale could be another battle to the death... anything is possible. But for the sake of argument, let's say that the battle rounds "ring" is gone for awhile, this is it. Will you miss it? I won't, I am ready to vote, this is a democracy and I want my opinion heard. Until then, more battle rounds, more coaches choices and more off pairings...
