The XFL, in a statement released by their Twitter account, has announced the suspension of regular season games due to the recent coronavirus outbreak.

Ticket holders will be “issued refunds or credit towards future games.”

However, the statement also emphasizes that players will be paid despite the suspension of play, and the XFL is “committed to playing a full season in 2021 and future years.”

The announcement did not give details in regards to the organizations’ plans for people that work for the team. It's also hard to imagine how the league will manage to come back from something like this devastating in their debut season, but we'll see.

In other sporting news, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban recently told of his desire to create payment plans for the workers despite the NBA’s stoppage, and Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers recently donated $100K to arena workers to help with lost wages due to the suspension of games.
