TIGLFF Movie Review: Gaybe

He’s gay, she’s straight — why not try to have a baby together?

He’s gay, she’s straight, they’ve been friends for years, so why not try to have a baby together? The answers to that question form the backbone of Gayby, a winning comedy that reminded me of a more inside-the-community version of Kevin Smith’s Chasing Amy. Gayby is well-acted (especially by leads Jenn Harris and Matthew Wilkas, but including most of the supporting cast) and the script is brimming with potent one-liners and acute observations. Don’t miss this one.

Thurs. Oct. 11, 9 p.m. Tampa Theatre.
