TIGLFF Movie Review: Unfit: Ward vs. Ward

A documentary that will make your head explode.

A documentary that will make your head explode, Unfit dissects a 1995 custody battle in Pensacola, Florida between John and Mary Ward. John was a convicted murderer who had served nine years for killing his first wife. Mary was a lesbian. Guess who the homophobe judge gave custody to. Unfit does a workmanlike job of relating the story, nabbing key interviews with family friends and the child at the center of the battle, and enraging the audience. You’ve been warned.

Sat. Oct. 13, 3 p.m., Tampa Theatre.
