Check out what Florida Avenue Ales has on tap as it hosts the second annual Babes & Brews happy hour for a good cause tonight, Friday, May 9. From 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., sip on the brewery’s delicious craft beers while Nathalia Estrada performs. Plus, the Betty Rocker food truck will be on site, and there will be raffle prizes and more. All money raised benefits Metro Wellness and Community Centers.
Are you ready to flip your wig? Flamingo Resort in St. Pete hosts the Tampa Bay Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Wig Drive this weekend. This ninth annual Girl Power Wig Drive and Show will benefit Faces of Courage, an organization that helps women and children with cancer. Throughout the weekend they’ll be collecting scarves, hats, prosthetics and cash for the group.
Tonight, Friday, May 9 at 9 p.m., Sister Agatha Frisky and Miss St. Pete Pride Muffy Vanbeaverhousen host Bingo at the Flamingo. Six games cost $10. The Girl Power Drag Show takes the stage tomorrow, Saturday, May 10, at 8 p.m. Sister Monica Muffdiver will emcee and special guest start Crystal Chandelier is the highlight of the performance. Wrap up the weekend on Sunday, May 11, with Baked Good Brunch, at 12 p.m., with the sisters.
Head north to Dade City’s Sawmill Resort if you’re looking to get away from it all. This weekend is Sawmill’s outrageous Cock in the Sock weekend party, where attendees are encouraged to wear only a sock to raise money for testicular cancer. (And the best cock in a sock will win $1,000!) Many of the weekend’s events will raise money for the cause: bingo with the Backwoods Bears, a charity car wash, the DJ pool party and the Cock in a Sock dance party. The resort hopes to raise $2,500 over the weekend.
Celebrate Power Infiniti’s birthday Saturday, May 10, 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., at Liquid Tampa’s Gathering of the Tribe party, a birthday gathering for the high priestess. Special guest Vi Vacious from season six of RuPaul’s Drag Race will be on hand to celebrate the circuit diva's birthday.
Ladies, are you looking for something to do after your Mother’s Day celebrations on Sunday, May 11? Join She Runs with Scissors at Countryside Lanes in Clearwater for Pride Night bowling. There will be drink specials, music and entertainment throughout the evening. Specials include $3 shots and drinks. Unlimited bowling is $10, with a $5 cover to get in.
