Word to your mother

Freebies for Mom on Mother's Day.

Mom just wants some quality time. Spend Mother's Day at at three major venues, which all happen to be offering Mom free admission (with your paid entry first).

Start off by wowing her with breathtaking underwater delights of the Florida Aquarium, 701 Channelside Drive, flaaquarium.org, where she can see displays of 20,000-plus aquatic flora and fauna and animals for free all weekend long (during operating hours, of course).

Down the road, the Tampa Bay History Center, 801 Old Water St., Tampa, tamphistorycenter.org, has the Shades of Blue and Gray Civil War Exhibit on display and free admission both Saturday and Sunday. Click here for a CL Deal coupon for Sono Cafe. Downtown, celebrate Mother's Day at the Tampa Museum of Art. The day includes specials, admission to http://www.tampamuseum.org/node/525 and brunch at Sono Cafe. The cafe seats approximately 75, and includes waterfront tables and a diverse selection of menu items. The museum is at 120 W. Gasparilla Plaza in downtown Tampa (just off Ashley Street exit, by the Hillsborough River).

Or, whisk Mama across the river to the splendor of the former Tampa Bay Hotel at the University of Tampa, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd, ut.edu. UT's Henry B. Plant Museum is free for Mom on Mother's Day, so show off by informing her that the Moorish architecture, opulent furnishings and lush gardens of Plant's Tampa Bay Hotel attracted famous guests like Teddy Roosevelt, Sarah Bernhardt and Babe Ruth.

So, now you have three great options. No excuses. Do your mama proud.
