Morean Arts Center, a Central Avenue mainstay, continues its commitment to diversity in the arts with “Fresh Squeezed 5.”

This year’s crop of emerging artists includes University of Central Florida grad Zoraye Cyrus. Cyrus explores Blackness, both as a color and an identity, in different forms of charcoal. Despite the deceptive simplicity of its monochromatic appearance, charcoal’s not an easy medium to work in. I look forward to seeing what Cyrus does with it.
