DeSantis has gradually signed bills from the legislative session that ended in March.

Among the other bills signed Monday was a measure (HB 59) that will allow pharmacies to use automated systems to dispense prescription drugs.

The five-year pilot program, which would take effect Jan. 1, deals primarily with cost-related issues.

The lawsuit makes a series of allegations, including negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.

The bills were passed during the legislative session that ended in March but did not formally get sent to DeSantis until this month.

The CONNECT system cost taxpayers $77 million.

The lawsuit filed Monday on behalf of Egleston alleges breach of contract and “unjust enrichment” by UF.

The orders raise the possibility nursing homes and assisted-living facilities could face license revocations, suspensions or fines for not complying.

Meanwhile, prominent Orlando trial attorney John Morgan said he can get back the $77.9 million Florida spent setting up the CONNECT system.

The lawsuit argues that ballots should be valid so long as they are postmarked on or before Election Day.

The voter-approved amendment set a Dec. 31, 2020, deadline for ending greyhound racing at pari-mutuel facilities.
