When The Flaming Lips hit the Jannus stage in April, the capacity crowd of fearless freaks expected great tunes, grand spectacle and plenty of confetti. Fortunately, the Lips delivered the goods on all three especially the confetti. From the first note of show-opener Race For The Prize, frontman Wayne Coyne doused us in a tsunami of shredded paper. If you were there, youre probably still pulling the stuff from the deep, unexplored folds of your body. Whether shot by Coyne from a handheld gun, erupting from on-stage cannons or spilling forth from a giant exploding balloon, the confetti rained downed ceaselessly throughout the two-hour set, leaving the fans ecstatic and the clean-up crew with one hell of a mess.
