BEST PARK (ING LOT): Al Lopez Park

This busy city park boasts 126 acres of grassy goodness for the kids to celebrate their birthdays with giant bouncing houses, simultaneous play of a half-dozen soccer games, and plenty of quiet space left over for picnicking. But all bets are off come summer’s end when football fans pay the city $20 a car or $30 for an RV to ride up and claim any area not covered by a playground or dog park. Regardless of the season, though, Al Lopez is a fine setting for lovers to sprawl out on blankets, families to exercise together and just be outside. And in a few weeks, being outside might actually be tolerable again.
