BEST SIGN WE HOPE NEVER GETS TORN DOWN: World Liquors, St. Petersburg

To some, World Liquors represents a tired outpost where vagrants come to buy cheap 40s — an impediment to the sprucing up of Central Avenue. To us, it’s a lingering slice of old-Florida kitsch amid redevelopment and the onslaught of chain stores. But it’s the sign that really earns our love, a delightfully tacky globe (which has been there for many a decade) that may well be missing a continent or two.
