DIVIEST OF THE DIVE BARS: Molly’s Place

Belly up to Molly’s cracked and stained bar and you’ll see why this is the queen of dive bars. It’s dark, dingy and you can’t beat $1 drafts in a frosty mug. Three framed pictures make up the bar’s decor: a woman bare-assed and bent over with a beer mug balanced on her rump, and two posters of motorcycles decked out with flashing lights. In addition to beverages, Molly’s Place also has pool, a jukebox full of hits from the ’60s and ’70s, and scrappy, screaming old drunks. But the washer-dryer facilities in the back earn this bar the award: Sitting on a stool getting drunk in a seedy bar is one thing, but doing a load of laundry in said bar brings “dive” to a whole new level.
