BEST SHOWCASE FOR LOCAL FILMMAKERS: Tampa Film Review

For several years now, on the first Friday of every month, Tampa Film Review has hosted free film shows where lucky viewers get to see a wide range of budding local filmmakers strut their stuff, while the filmmakers in turn get some welcome exposure and maybe even a little useful feedback. It’s a win-win for everyone. In addition to the monthly film showings, local directors, actors, screenwriters and others working (or wanting to work) in the film industry are encouraged to stop by for the networking sessions held prior to TFR at 7 pm. Brothers Pete and Paul Guzzo have poured a tremendous amount of energy into keeping TFR alive and thriving over the years, and the event’s continuing success is one of the few breaths of fresh air in a local cultural scene that too often seems to be gasping for it.
