Best dance legacy: Lynn Marie Ruse

Best dance legacy

Ruse, who died of lung cancer at 48 in August, was a brilliant dancer and choreographer who won critical plaudits in New York City with the Freefall Dance Company she co-founded with Lynn Brown (pictured). She also was a former Tampa resident and graduate of USF who often returned to the Bay area to teach and perform. In 1995, she was CL’s Best of the Bay Choreographer, and more recently Tampa audiences saw her stunning choreography for USF productions (both directed by Kerry Glamsch) Finer Noble Gases and 100 Saints You Should Know. Death, you oughta be ashamed of yourself. Lynn, we know just where you’re dancing now.
