Since 1971, the family-owned Wilson’s Book World has helped keep the written word alive in St. Petersburg. With a focus on used and antiquarian books, Wilson’s boasts an inventory of 250,000 hard covers, paperbacks and manuscripts — and there’s even a cool collection of comics to peruse in the back. Owner Jeff Morris is as passionate about partnering with the community, opening up his store for various literary events, as he is about books. In June, Wilson’s celebrated James Joyce with a Bloomsday event, and earlier this month the bookstore hosted a slate of local poets and fiction writers. Morris is always open to writers and organizations who might want to use his space. 2394 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N., St. Petersburg, 727-896-3700, wilsonsbookworld.com
