Best art show to elicit indignance from quasi-governmental agency: BENJAMIN DIMMITT’S AN UNFLINCHING LOOK at CLAYTON GALLERIES

Best art show to elicit indignance from quasi-governmental agency

Sometimes, the truth hurts. And apparently, Tampa Bay Water couldn’t handle the truth. With Dimmitt’s unwavering, breathtaking black and white photographs, he captures how quickly we can devastate our land due to saltwater creeping up the spring-fed creeks of the Chassahowitska National Wildlife Refuge. Beheaded palms still stand upright, serving as their own tombstones in an area that should be lush and exploding with unadulterated vegetation. Artists wield much power, and Dimmitt’s work proves how art can still push people’s buttons. claytongalleries.net—Caitlin Albritton
