When a play is entitled The Importance of Being Earnest With Zombies, you might be excused for guessing that the rags of the undead will be the most notable costuming elements. But you’d be wrong: the freeFall production of this only slightly altered Oscar Wilde masterpiece was graced by some of the most beautiful period costuming ever seen in the Tampa Bay area: 19th-century outfits so striking that, in several cases, they seemed destined for a fine arts museum. The creator of these lovely clothes was the highly talented Amy J. Cianci, who also designed the traditional and space-movie togs for freeFall’s The Pirates of Penzance. It must have been a trip just to wear this stuff. —Mark Leib
