Best UPS store (& center of the DTSP universe): The UPS Store, Downtown St. Petersburg

Best UPS store (& center of the DTSP universe)

Every town seems to have one: a central spot where everyone goes at one time or another, to take care of business, trade the latest gossip, or just stay connected with what’s going on. Once upon a time that might have been the post office, but in downtown St. Pete it’s the UPS Store run by Joe Pugliano and partner (in life and business) Don Sheets. Joe is a strong supporter of LGBT organizations — Equality Florida, Metro Wellness, TIGLFF — and his involvement in civic organizations like the St. Pete Downtown Neighborhood Association means that he knows just about everybody in town, while attending to their shipping needs with care and discretion. With the Kahwa branch next door the preferred spot for politicos, artists and businesspeople to meet over coffee, the corner of 2nd & 2nd is a virtual information clearinghouse, St. Pete's town square. 200 2nd Ave. S., St. Petersburg, 727-826-6075. —David Warner
