Best script-flipping on sexual abuse: JOBSITE THEATER

Best script-flipping on sexual abuse

When Israel Horovitz made news because nine — nine! — women came forward with allegations of sexual abuse, Jobsite’s Producing Artistic Director David Jenkins was admittedly heartbroken, but wasted no time pulling a play by Horovitz from Jobsite’s current season. Not only did he do that, he and the theater’s board found a replacement that celebrated women taking back the power, LGBT rights and the crumbling of the patriarchy. Taylor Mac’s HIR could not have been more perfect, and of all the awards I’ve written this year, I’m proudest to write one commending Jobsite for their swift and enlightened decisions. 1010 N.
