Innovocative Theatre’s ‘Columbinus’
Some of us remember the Columbine shooting, and those of us who do probably went to high school when our biggest worries were… well, OK, we worried about AIDS and bullying and lots of things, it wasn’t a perfect time. The thing about Columbine, though, is that the U.S. had a chance to react like a group of people who really were horrified by this brutal mass killing — either with responsible gun legislation or better mental health practices, or even better, both — and we did nothing. We all know what happened next, and it wasn’t peace and love. Columbinus offered some thought-provoking insight into that benchmark massacre, as well as some heavy hitters at the talkback. Problem was, the show was woefully under-attended. Is it possible we really don’t care? innovocativetheatre.org
