The Hub's Kamran Mir
There’s a meme going around that the best thing to happen because of COVID-19 is to-go margaritas. Well, in Tampa, the best thing that happened because of COVID-19 was to-go Hub drinks. And thanks to bartender Kamran Mir, they were as strong as they were fancy-for-The Hub at least. His relationship with liquor reps around town also meant the drinks sometimes were free for hospitality industry workers. He’s made mai tais, whiskey-sours and bloody Marys. Most recently, and most importantly, he’s been topping off bottles of Jarritos and Topo Chicos with complimentary alcohol (i.e. tequila) in grapefruit soda. That’s some ingenuity. —Stephanie Powers
