Chef Rob Reinsmith‘s jerk octopus has justly become one of Wild Child’s signature dishes. The accents of charred scallion crema, wafer-thin circles of fennel, small peeled grapefruit segments, red watercress leaves, sliced rings of pickled sweet peppers, and a spritz of fresh lime juice meld beautifully on the plate. The tentacles are firm without being rubbery and have just the right amount of heat to pop without throwing the dish out of balance. You’ll swoon like you’re in Spain.
