Most inspirational race for office: Isaiah Haddon

Isaiah Haddon

The lifelong Hernando County resident born in Spring Hill Regional Hospital planned a June 2020 Peace Walk for Black Lives that made headlines because of its significant counter-protester attendance (someone was tased by officers after refusing to drop a machete, and the protest saw counter protesters wearing Confederate flags, shouting “White Is Right,” and calling some protesters the N-word). In response, the then-20-year-old Haddon ran a tempered and inspiring campaign for Hernando County Commission’s District 1 seat. Former Hernando County School Board member Beth Narverud beat him in November, but we hope Haddon keeps his political aspirations alive. @isaiahforhernando on Instagram
