Dissent Craft Brewing Co. The second location of St. Pete’s Dissent Craft Brewing Company opened last Friday in Downtown Lakeland. The original Dissent, a 1,200-square-foot brewery opened in 2017 by Chris Price and Dale Miller and has been producing “outspoken ales by outspoken people” ever since. Remember the Tiger King-inspired Berliner weisse “G.D.C.B.” (as in “God Damn Carol Baskin”)? Hours for Dissent Craft Brewing’s new Lakeland location at are not set in stone, but the brewery will open at 3 p.m Monday-Thursday and noon Friday-Sunday. 125 S Kentucky Ave., Lakeland. @dissentlakeland on Facebook

Par Bar It’s time to get drunk and hit all the balls you want at St. Pete’s first mini golf-themed bar. The course is small, but comes equipped with a loop-de-loop and ramp that you’ll eventually have to face. You’re welcome to bring the kiddos and your dog, but the bar is 21-and-up after dark and the course is pup-free, so they won’t be able to chase any balls while you’re trying to make a hole-in-one. 2253 1st Ave. S, St. Petersburg. @parbarstp on Instagram

Yard Milkshake Bar Suburbanites looking for fat milkshakes piled high with all the goods can finally head to the Yard. The chain announced its third Florida location back in August and just celebrated its grand opening last weekend. The Yard was featured on “Shark Tank” back in 2019, striking a deal that made opening more franchise locations possible, but ownership hasn't stopped there. 13168 N Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa. theyardmilkshakebar.com

Bolay It looks like Bolay is expanding across the Bay. Another location of the build-your-own-bowl concept is coming to St. Petersburg next month when Bolay opens in Crescent lake. It’s joining the ranks of other BYOB spots like Pacific Counter and Fresh Kitchen—and all three offer vegan and vegetarian bowl options filled with greens and plenty of protein options. The concept’s official opening date is Nov. 11, but soft openings will be on Nov. 9 from noon-1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Nov. 10 from noon-1:30 p.m. 1330 4th St. N, St. Petersburg. bolay.com

Candy corn Jai Alai is coming to Cigar City's Tampa taproom Forget pumpkin spice lattes, Cigar City Brewing (CCB) is in the Halloween spirit with special limited-release selections during Jai Alai Ween 2021, happening now and throughout October inside CCB’s taproom. The celebration culminates with a “Jai Alai Ween Bash” on Oct. 29, but you might want to get to the taproom sooner than that to try Halloween-inspired takes on core CCB beers, which started showing up on the menu on Oct. 4. The rainbow candy Jai Alai is already tapped out, on Monday, the taproom starts pouring blueberry frost proof Belgian-style white ale and raspberry frost proof Belgian-style white ale, but the absurdity reaches its apex on Oct. 25 when CCB cracks open its candy corn Jai Alai along with lemon candy Jai Low IPA. If that wasn’t enough, the Oct. 28 Halloween party will also see two takes on Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout—caramel candy, plus chocolate candy and peanut—hit the taps along with the final keg of CCB’s Good Gourd imperial pumpkin ale. 3924 W Spruce St., Tampa. cigarcitybrewing.com

Inaugural ‘Beer at the Pier’ festival brings Pinellas brews to downtown St. Pete next month It won’t be hard to find Gulp Coast’s first Beer at the Pier festival, well, because the location is in its name. The Florida Brewers Guild and Visit St. Pete/Clearwater are teaming up to bring this boozy festival to downtown St. Petersburg on Saturday, Nov. 13. There are two separate tasting sessions, the first from 1 p.m.-4 p.m., with the latter running from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. 800 2nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg. beeratthepier.com
