The Avenue, which locals call โThe Aveโ, announced its closure this week via social media. Its last day of service is Saturday, Feb. 22 as the bar goes out with a bang by hosting its Last Call celebration.
Located at 330 1st Ave S. and known for its high-spirited game days and iconic weekend brunch menu, the bar and restaurant grew to become a St. Pete staple over the last decade.
Owner Stephen Schrutt, whose Hunger Thirst Group has concepts across the Bay area, told multiple outlets that The Avenueโwhich has been open for 13 yearsโcould not come to terms on a new lease and has no plans to relocate.
โFrom game days to epic parties, this place has been home to some of St. Peteโs best moments,โ the post added. โLetโs make this farewell one for the books. One last round, St. Pete โ see you there!โ
