I know, you’ll have probably just gotten over that Thanksgiving food coma. But a few days after the holiday, you must go stuff yourself again — for a cause.
The third annual Frogman Feast — which will take place between 2 and 5 p.m. Nov. 25 in St. Petersburg — brings a mix of celebrated visiting chefs and local kitchen wizards together for a casual, family-friendly afternoon of chowing down. This event raised close to $40,000 for U.S. Navy SEALs and their Gold Star families in its first two years.
Top Chef winner Jeremy Ford of Miami’s Stubborn Seed and another Miami chef, Pushkar Marathe of Ghee Indian Kitchen, are among the 15 participants, as are Chris Fernandez (Red Mesa), Leslie Ciccone (swah-rey), Chad Johnson (Epicurean Hotel and Haven), Jason Cline (Poke Rose) and Tyson Grant (Parkshore Grill).
Best part? Everyone has their own sampling station.
In addition to the food, the host, 3 Daughters Brewing, supplies the suds, featured alongside booze from Kozuba & Sons Distillery and American Freedom Distillery, wines and Tidal Boar Ginger Beer. Other highlights include a silent auction, raffle and live band
The Gold Star families will ultimately decide who made their favorite dish, presenting the chef with a custom knife. Last year, Ray “Dr. BBQ” Lampe, who’s also part of the 2018 event, took home the win for his pork rind nachos.
Frogman Feast tickets, priced at $75 each, are available for purchase online. Proceeds go to the Navy SEAL Foundation.
