Warm sandwiches and bowls have landed AJ's Press in Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat for 2017 — at No. 4.
The crowdsourced business-rating website and mobile app released its annual Top 100 selection on Tuesday, placing Greg and Jill Lynn's young Tampa eatery firmly in the top five with the help of reviews submitted over the last year.
"On our past top 100 lists, you would be likely to find some of those 'famous' restaurants with thousands of reviews, over many years, holding steady at 4.5 stars," writes Shannon Eis, Yelp's vice president of corporate communications. "This year, those places were crowded out by other businesses that performed spectacularly in the last year."
AJ's Press, whose tagline is "Tasty Eats," specializes in pressed sandwiches (including the breakfast kind) and bowls near Raymond James Stadium. Other locals that made the list: Barracuda Deli Cafe in St. Pete Beach (25) and Tampa's Loli's Mexican Cravings (82) and Yolk, White & Associates (90).
