Alessi Bakery isn’t just observing its long-standing title as a Tampa tradition this weekend. The historic local bakery’s 106th Anniversary — kicking off at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 — also acts as a tribute to Phil Alessi, the late third-generation owner who passed away earlier this year.

Throughout the celebration of community and family, attendees can expect hourly deals and discounts on menu items like eclairs (49 cents), Cuban sandwiches ($4.99), deviled crab ($3.99) and brownies (39 cents).

See ya there?

Founder Nicolo Alessi, who arrived in Tampa from Italy more than 100 years ago, first opened Alessi Bakery on Cherry Street in 1912. Four generations of the family have since carried on Nicolo's recipe for success along Cypress Street, supplying the city with their perfected baked goods, catering and wedding cakes.
