Shelter Farm Sanctuary usually opens its doors to the public for volunteer days, but on Saturday, April 18, it’s welcoming everyone to a first anniversary "We Are One” dinner.
Tickets for the party start at $30; they include food, drinks, live music, and the chance to visit all of the farm’s animal friends—goats, pigs, and cows to name a few. And since the Shelter Farm Sanctuary was founded on vegan ideals (and head tattoos), the dinner will be completely meat-and-dairy-free.
This vegan farm and sanctuary—located at t 1837 SW County Rd. 769 in Arcadia—has strong ties to many Tampa Bay, animal-loving businesses as well. Golden Dinosaurs Vegan Deli, as well as Indie Flea vendors like Vagabondia and Free Bear Vintage, have given a portion of sales to Shelter Farm Sanctuary to help support its mission of giving animals their forever homes.
The farm is a bit of a drive away from Tampa Bay, so take a stroll throughout the Myakka River State Park or visit the mom-and-pop shops in Sarasota to help make your day trip to DeSoto County worthwhile.
Tickets for next month’s “We Are One” dinner will soon be available on the Shelter Farm Sanctuary website.
