Tampa may have plenty of renowned restaurants and award-winning chefs, but it also has hearty trough of fast food options, and, well, it’s gotten to the point that a new study now places us among the top in the country for junk food lovers.
A new report from rental website Apartment Guide places Tampa at the number 8 spot in their “10 Best Cities in The Country for Fast Food Lovers.” Hurray.
According to the report, Tampa currently has a population of 385,430 residents and 200 fast food restaurants, which equals to one food-hole dispensary per 1,927.
Currently, our fast food roster consists of an insane 66 Subway locations, followed by 35 McDonald’s locations, 23 Burger Kings, 21 Pizza Huts, 18 Taco Bells, 14 Wendy’s, 12 Chic-fil-As, and zero Hardees and In-N-Outs. (Editor's note: We've actually got at least one Hardee's in St. Pete, Apartment Guide.)
Notably, Tampa’s complete absence of Whataburger was not mentioned.
Of course, Florida is well represented on this list, with Miami coming in at number 2 and Orlando taking the top honors as the number one city for fast food.
