After 10 years in the catering business, David Bilyeu is paying homage to the Cajun and Creole markets of Baton Rouge by opening up a full-service catering concept called Bayou Market and Café.
Located at 6630 Central Ave. in St Petersburg, the concept hosts a market with fresh and frozen menu options — think chicken enchiladas, beef or vegetarian lasagna, and crawfish pie — that allow customers to take home any selection and bake it themselves.
The market also offers a selection of local beers and select wines, and its cafe portion serves up lunch and dinner cafeteria-style. Diners will indulge in Cajun and Caribbean eats with a selection of vegetarian options. Not in the mood to grab a tray? You can snag a signature sandwich, Cuban, soup or salad a la carte.
Market hours are weekdays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The cafe hours include lunch service weekdays 11 a.m.-2 p.m. followed by dinner service from 4-7 p.m. Bayou Market and Café is closed on Sunday.
