Just when you thought Tampa Bay was at its capacity of tiki bars and tropical-themed restaurants, Twisted Turtle steps in to give Carrollwood a taste of the good life. Tampa’s newest neighborhood bar opens on Jan. 31 out of the space formerly occupied by Caveman Cove, which was featured on the fourth season of the Food Network show "Bar Rescue."

Obviously Jon Taffer's magic didn't work on Caveman Cove (fka Dale 1891), since Twisted Turtle has taken over the plaza bar since the airing of its "Bar Rescue" episode in 2016.

You can’t miss the large tiki thatching covering the patio of the Twisted Turtle at 11742 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. There’s an ocean-inspired mural running throughout the dining area in between brightly colored walls and other tropical-themed decor. Although there’s no menu online yet, its website boasts of both chicken and duck wings, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, tacos, flatbreads, and salads.

Twisted Turtle will also have an extensive beer and spirits selection, even offering CBD-infused craft cocktails. Its website also lists several amenities and events like live music, several TVs, DJ sets, game nights and a state-of-the-art jukebox.

After its grand opening this weekend, Twisted Turtle will be open from 3 p.m.-3 a.m. daily.
